Shri Rudram: A Sacred Vedic Hymn for Purification, Blessings and Upliftment

Shri Rudram is an ancient Vedic text and part of the Krishna Yajurveda. It is a powerful hymn in praise of Rudra, or Shiva. In the mystical tradition, Shiva represents the consciousness within everything, the pure essence within all, referred to in the Hindu scripture as Sat Chit Anand: Truth, consciousness and bliss. It is in the Shri Rudram that the great five-syllable mantra, Om Namah Shivaya is first mentioned.

You might simply listen to the chant during meditation, or you could chant along. The vibrations of the chant purify the atmosphere and mind, fill your being with peace and vigor, bestow protection, and coupled with a pure intention, have the power to grant your wishes, including liberation.

This album is a labor of love and 100% of the proceeds are being donated to a worthy charitable cause. May the practice of chanting the Shri Rudram bring you countless blessings.

Supreme Heart of Shiva

Music for Deep Meditation

Music for Deep Meditation is proud to present The Supreme Heart of Shiva: Om Namah Shivaya and Chanting OM. This album features original melody compositions by Vidura Barrios for the Om Namah Shivaya chants and special arrangements of the chanting of the sacred syllable Om. Each track is designed to support the practice of both meditation and sacred chanting. Om is a primeval mantra, said to be the first sound to arise from Supreme Silence. Om Namah Shivaya, also ancient, is known as the five-syllable mantra—five syllables plus Om. One of the great mantras of the yogic tradition, Om Namah Shivaya is translated as “I honor Shiva”—Shiva being understood to be a name for one’s innermost being. This is called the great redeeming mantra for, when repeated or sung, it has the power to still the mind and reveal the power that lies within. The album also includes the chanting of the Maha Mrityunjaya, a Vedic prayer for well being on all levels. In this prayer, the seeker asks for their delusion to be dispelled and for awareness to dawn within them of their own deepest nature. The supreme heart of Shiva is, in essence, the divine heart that exists within all beings. May each of us experience the beauty and wonder that is Shiva, and may our meditation practice bear great fruit for us and for the world.

The sound of the Tibetan singing bowl is known for its healing properties and its ability to induce states of deep meditative absorption. The hand-made metal bowls are traditionally used in rituals as well as for meditation. The resonant sound they produce penetrates through a meditator's body and mind, allowing oneself to go deep inside.

This CD features Tibetan Singing bowls in various notes, each dedicated to one of the 7 chakras, or energy centers in the body. In the yoga tradition, a regular meditation practice gradually purifies the chakras allowing us to experience increased vibrancy, health, happiness and ultimately full recognition of our true nature.

The recording also includes deep resonant chimes, along with nature sounds such as ocean waves, thunder and rainforest. All of the tracks are perfect for deepening and supporting your meditation, yoga or healing practice.

Lakshmi Mantras for Abundance and Contentment

Mantras are sacred sounds - vehicles for transformation which have been repeated and meditated on by yogis since ancient times. It is said that mantras were first experienced by sages as spontaneous sounds heard during meditation. These words of power purify the mind and body, resonate with energies inside and can shift how we experience ourselves and the world, bringing us closer to our true divine nature.

The mantras on this album, chanted by Vidura Barrios, have the specific purpose of calling forth abundance, protection and contentment into your life. The album includes the Sri Suktam, a hymn from the Rig Veda that is more than 3000 years old. The Sri Suktam is the first time that Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance is mentioned in the Vedas. The album also includes the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam Stotram, a beautiful hymn to Lakshmi from the Puranas, as well as the Gayatri mantras to Lakshmi. There are also two tracks of Bija (seed) mantras for Lakshmi which are easy to chant along with. In the mystic yogic Tantric tradition, Bija mantras represent the most concentrated and powerful representation of the divine in sound-form.

May this album bear great fruit and may it support an even deeper meditation and yoga practice for you.

Bhagavad Gita - An Essential Yoga Text, Vol. 1

Music for Deep Meditation

In cart Not available Out of stock

Bhagavad Gita Volumes One and Two are gentle, soothing recordings of the complete sacred Hindu text, chanted in the original Sanskrit by Brahmin priest and classically trained vocalist Shri Prasad Joshi. Perfect for Yoga practice, meditation, chanting along with the text, or for pure relaxation, Shri Prasad Joshi's melodic chanting, delivered flawlessly above a quiet tambura drone, will ease the listener into a state of peaceful focus. The Bhagavad Gita comprises roughly 700 verses of a conversation between warrior prince Arjuna and Krishna, his charioteer and guide, taking place on the battlefield before the Kurukshetra war. Krishna offers the confused prince advice on his responsibilities, detailing Yogic and Vedantic philosophy in allegory. As centuries passed, the Bhagavad Gita became known as an elemental guide to Hinduism, a philosophical guide to life and an essential text for the study of Yoga. Mahatma Gandhi called Gita The Gospel of Selfless Action, writing "The object of the Gita appears to me to be that of showing the most excellent way to attain self-realization." Bhagavad Gita Volumes One and Two are both two-disc sets. Volume One contains chapters 1through 8 and Volume Two contains chapters 9 through 18. Together, they form a rare and truly special listening experience not to be missed.
